A UNIQUE & POWERFUL
SPECIES OF GOJI
Tibetan Medicine doctors recognise this particular Goji as a unique species of Lycium berry – with powerful qualities and effects.
It only grows in remote Himalayan, Tibetan and Mongolian regions and is in fact the ancient ancestor of the Lycium Barbarum or “wolfberry” that you commonly find sold in stores as “Goji”.
Our Goji is collected from remote valleys and steep mountain slopes in Amdo – a traditional region of Tibet. Today known as the Qinghai province.
It is therefore often called “Tibetan” Goji.
Tibetan Medicine doctors and botanical experts are working towards having this ancient species of Goji formally classified as “Lycium Tibeticum”.
POTENT & NUTRIENT RICH - GROWING WILD IN HARSH CONDITIONS
Organic Burst Goji is wild-crafted – meaning the berries are picked directly from their natural environment in the wild.
The climate where they grow is harsh with temperatures reaching 102 °F (39 °C) and dropping to as low as -16 °F (-27 °C). Even under these difficult conditions, our Goji thrives in the ancient, fertile and alkaline soils.
It is widely known amongst botanists and herbalists that plants that thrive in the wild and especially in such tough conditions are more powerful and hardy than those grown on monoculture farms. The wild berries actually develop and store more nutrients to protect themselves so they can survive.
In their natural habitat, our Goji grow together with a variety of other herbs and plants – just as nature intended. They all help strengthen and protect each other to survive the tough conditions and form what are known as crop communities.
A SPECIAL CONSERVATION PROJECT
Our Goji is part of a harvesting and conservation project initiated by dedicated Tibetan Medicine doctors, Lamas, botanists and researchers to protect and preserve this ancient berry.
We work with a research institute of traditional Tibetan and Himalayan Medicine that helps preserve original Tibetan herbs, teach local communities and protect the biodiversity of these serene environments.
