Slim & Detox Plan
Here is a healthy slim and detox plan, combining Acai and Wheatgrass, that we love at Organic Burst. With your exercise regime, it will boost your metabolism and flush out toxins, helping you burn more calories.
Duration: 1 - 3 months for optimal results.
Chlorophyll: Chemicals in our food and environment clog up the liver and can harm its ability to metabolise fat. Chlorophyll in wheatgrass works on a deep level to remove toxins while eliminating excess acidity in the body.
Antioxidants protect our body from oxidative damage - the reason behind ageing and degenerative diseases. Large amounts of antioxidants are especially needed during exercise. Acai has one of the highest levels of antioxidants – polyphenols, whereas wheatgrass is high in antioxidant vitamins A, C and E.
Fibre: acai and wheatgrass are good sources of dietary fibre which helps cleanse the digestive tract.
Digestive enzymes and energy-metabolising minerals in wheatgrass help boost metabolism.
Upon rising: Mix 1 teaspoon of Organic Burst Wheatgrass into a glass of water to kick-start your metabolism.
Breakfast: Take 2 capsules of Organic Burst Acai with food. Go for a wholegrain breakfast with a portion of fruit: a slice of whole-wheat bread with almond butter or a bowl of muesli with an apple.
Mid-morning snack: feel like some coffee? Go for a cup of green tea instead – it is high in antioxidants and much lower in caffeine. Have a handful of nuts or berries.
Lunch: Why not try a hearty salad or soup (not cream based) with a loaf of wholegrain bread.
3-4pm: Make sure to eat a snack that contains protein during this hour. Go for a protein bar or a handful of nuts with apple. Have a large glass of water.
Dinner: Take 1 capsules of Organic Burst Acai with your usual healthy dinner. Try wholegrain pasta with a low-GI and a fresh green salad on the side.
Continue with the above directons, with the addition of:
+ Indulge: have a small amount of organic dark chocolate every day. You’re more likely to be satisfied and not break your healthy eating habits.
+ Smoothie Snack: If you’re at home take a few minutes to make this supercharge smoothie! Chop 1 banana; add 200ml of bio-yoghurt or soy yoghurt, a handful of berries, 1 teaspoon of wheatgrass and blend. You can also add 1 teaspoon of spirulina – it helps reduce your appetite naturally and is a rich and the most digestible source of protein. Add some organic agave syrup if you need more sweetness.
Tip1: Try to stay away from sugary foods and caffeine. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Your taste buds will soon get used to eating wholegrain low-GI foods!
Tip2: If you’re exercising you need extra protein intake. Try including spirulina – the richest and the most digestive protein source (60-70%) protein, in particular if you’re vegan or vegetarian.
Tip3: If you experience detox symptoms such as headaches, aches and pains, reduce the dosage of wheatgrass to one teaspoon and continue until the symptoms disappear. If the symptoms continue stop the plan and go back to your normal healthy diet.
