Healthy snacks are such an important thing to keep in your house and they can be so delicious too! These maca energy balls are so perfect as they’re amazingly easy to make. They only take about five minutes, plus they last a couple of weeks so you can make big batches all at once. Of course they’re also really delicious and nourishing.

The dates give them a beautifully sweet flavour that is complimented by the creaminess of the almond butter and the subtle flavours of the coconut oil. Plus there’s a little zing of ginger to give them an awesome kick. Organic Burst Chia seeds are there to give you extra fibre and omega 3’s, and then our maca gives you a huge burst of energy. Organic Burst Maca is fantastic for endurance, energy and hormonal balance. It’s known as an adaptogen as it strengthens and supports the areas of your body under compromise. It also contains two groups of unique compounds, which are particularly wonderful energy boosters – macaenes and macamides; as well as lots of bioactive compounds, plant sterols and prostaglandins that regulate the endocrine system. On top of all of this it’s full of awesome minerals, especially calcium, potassium, iron, phosphorous, magnesium and zinc.

So each bite of these yummy balls will give you amazing amounts of goodness while satisfying all your sweet snacking cravings!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of dates
  • ¾ of a cup of almonds
  • 2 tablespoons of Organic Burst Maca powder
  • 2 tablespoons of Organic Burst Chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons of almond butter
  • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 1 heaped teaspoon of ginger

Method:

Simply place the almonds in a food processor and blend them for about a minute until they form a flour. Then add the dates (pit them first), the maca and the ginger and blend again until everything sticks together, at this point add the coconut oil and almond butter and blend again. Once the whole mix has stuck together scoop it out the processor and roll each tablespoon into a ball with your hands firmly pressing them together. Finally once all the balls have been made place them on a plate in the freezer for about an hour to set, then store in the fridge.

Enjoy!
